In an effort to improve network connectivity to our rural facilities while reducing the reoccurring cost the ITS department has installed a microwave network for data connectivity between 2 facilities and our server room. The ITS department has developed an expansion plan to service all facilities with this network. The project cost for the 3 locations was $35,000 and we reduced the monthly cost by approximately $410 leaving a return on investment of fewer than 8 years while taking internet speed from at one station from 5Mbps to 1,100Mbps and increasing the uptime and reliability significantly across both facilities served.
